Hi,

I am going to build the following spec PC:

P4 3.0Ghz 800Mhz FSB H/T
Coolermaster Jet 4 HSF
Intel D865GBFL
512MB 400Mhz DDR RAM
Nvidia Geforce FX 5900 XT
30GB Seagate Harddrive
Benq DVD ROM & CD-RW
Floppy drive
Creative Soundblaster Live 5.1
56K Modem
2 x 80mm system fans

I bought a 450W Jeantech PSU from PCWorld (it has 4 blue coloured fans) the other day. It supplies 45A on the +5V, 18A on the +12V and 28A on the +3.3V.
I have read some stuff to suggest that 18A on the +12V rail is not enough?

Is this true? - Thanks

Yeah but that doesn't tell me anything! Nobody seems to be sure.
Think I'll just go and buy a 550W Antec one to be safe.

Id recommend at least 25A on the 12v rail. I have a Tagan 480Watt unit which supplies 28A and is absolutely silent

I am very confused by your post ??If you are not sure and you said nobody seemed to sure from your last post why did you go and buy The jeantech 450w PSU and now you say you will go and buy a 550W Antec, Are you collecting PSU's ???

I bought the 450W cos at the time I thought it would be powerful enough! I took it back to PC World today and the guy told me that a 450W should be ok for what I want. But there are so many people now telling me that it's not powerful enough!!

Therefore I'm gunna buy and Antec 550W as I KNOW that will be enough!

Bloody hell Beb - 28A on the 12V rail!?!?! What are you running, a space rocket?!?!?!

The biggest supply that Antec offers supplies 24A on the 12V rail! And that's a 550W PSU!
