Getting rid of fonts

I want to get rid of fonts that I will never use so that the list of fonts in Word etc is smaller.
Do I just go to settings/control panel/fonts and select/right click/delete

Not all fonts can be deleted some are required by Windows and other programs to work so be careful.

You can always put the spares into another folder and see if your Windows behaves itself. Then you can reinstall any that may have been deleted in error.
