getting rid of EZ BIOS

I have been given an old Packard Bell P60 with a decent 6gb Western Digital Caviar 36400 h/d, I tried putting the h/d in another machine with better spec. I did fdisk, formatted, installed Windows ME but as it re-booted it comes up with the lines:
EZ BIOS- Initialising Setup...
EZ BIOS- Continuing Startup...
then comes the line... Invalid system disc....
anyone got any ideas how to solve this please, I have checked in the archives on here and seen one response which says to disable the EZ BIOS, but how do you do that? The system I am trying to put it in is a Compaq Deskpro, and I'm not sure how to access the mobo bios on that... Any help most welcome, thanks
