Getting rid of AOL

  Graysonlad 10:56 23 Aug 07

A friend has bought a used computer from another friend. The computer is ok, but when it has booted and XP has loaded the screen is taken over with a full blown advert for AOL, as well as pictures it has voice over and music and it lasts for about 3 minutes.
The previous owner had the same problem, looking at ADD/Remove in the control panel there is no sign of this advert. Can anyone suggest away of getting rid of this?

My father in laws new laptop had this.
Next time it comes on, bottom left corner is a box to click (in the new window ) to stop it from starting in the first place. If you click you will never get it again. Mind you, you have to be quick, as it doesn't stay visible for long, then you have to sit through while it all plays, and get it next time.
