Genuine e-mails from Microsoft??

  Trikie 23:20 10 Nov 03

I seem to remember seeing something in the forum a few weeks ago about virus bearing e-mails disguised as Microsoft messages.

I've just got 2 from MS Corporation Network and MS Security Bulletin. Should I be suspicious?

Microsoft DON'T send out E-Mails.

Delete them. MS do not e-mail private customers.

Hang on - let's not be totally paranoid.

MS DO send out emails to those who subscribe to them.

What they DON'T do is send out attachments.

I don';t subscribe and these have got attachments.

Thanks for your help.

agree with leo49

i have taken part in a few surveys etc from them.

normally if on their site you will get a pop up and will be asked if they can contact you futher,if you agree and ONLY if you agree, then they contact you via email.

no attachments and they never do it without your permission first.
