Hello

I have an external dvd player but there is no manufacturers name or mark on it.

Is there such a thing as a generic dvd driver that I could use?

I am running win 2000, i have heard that windows should have any driver needed, but my dvd player still wont work, I keep getting asked to install a driver.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Richard

Try click here or click here using both utilities you may be able to find out the brand name.
However Win2k normally picks up the drivers ok, you could try using the Win2k CD and see if that works?

I assume that this is a USB device? In any case, when you switch on and connect the drive, you shoul dget some cklus as to make and manufacture from the on-screen prompts. Also the device itself should have a plate with details of model, serial number etc. Let us know what you discover.
