General Protection fault in MMSystem.DLL

Hi,
Can anyone advise what I can do to correct this error message please? My computer decides to send me this message when using IE; Outlook and Word.

I use Windows 98 2nd ed.

Thanks for this,but it isn't really clear how a nivice would be able to do this. I have found another site though which tells me to Start/Run/Sysedit and click on C:\Windows|System.ini

I have done this and my Drivers line appears to be intact.

sound.drv=mmsound.drv

keyboard.drv=keyboard.drv
*DisplayFallback=0

So I don't see how I can add Drivers=MMSYSTEM.DLL
or should I delete the power.drv?
