Gaming pc for first timer

Hi there!
I'm trying to get a gaming pc put together and have little idea of what I am doing. Here is what I've put together so far, any advice would be much appreciated.

CPU - AMD Athlon 64 X2 5800+ Brisbane 3.0GHz Socket AM2 89W Dual-Core Processor Model ADA5800IAA5DO

MB - JetWay JHA07-ULTRA-LF AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
CPU/MB - $150

Video Card - SAPPHIRE 100265HDMI Radeon HD 4830 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card ($90)

PSU - COOLER MASTER UCP RS700-AAAAA3 700W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Power Supply

Case - COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
PSU/Case - $180

Memory - Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KHX8500AD2K2/4G ($45)

HDD - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3160815AS 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive ($40)

CD/DVD - LG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner Black IDE Model GH22NP20 ($21)

My main goal is to build a system that I can improve on (SLI/crossfire, add HDD space). I am not concerned with the tiny HDD at this point as I can add later.

Also, I think I found a decent deal on a triple core/motherboard combo but its about $50 more than the current CPU motherboard combo...which would be better for playing mid range games like oblivion, fallout 3 and the like?

Any suggestions? improvements?

Thanks!

try to get a 4850 card if possible.

Would it be worth the extra $...the least expensive 4850 I have found is ~$140

I plan on adding another 4830 later for dual card awesomeness...

4850 will play fallout 3 ultra high. as prices will drop when ati brings new cards out you can add another 4850 later but one will play all games well now.
