Sniper Elite 4 review: Headshotting Nazis has never felt so good
Please help! :)
I'm lookin got buy a PC for gaming. I have a budget of £1,200 but I'm completely baffled by the options. Can anyone give me any suggestions, where and what? Thanks.
Would ideadlly include;
XP (not Vista)
wireless ready (or PS3)
Do not need mouse or keyword
Nearly forgot, I want to play games like COD 4, Sims 3, to be fair would like to play any game and not be restricted.
Have a look at the Alienware site, work out the spec you want, then find a local computer shop who will probably be able to buy you a comparable spec PC for a lot less.
If you were building one yourself, here's an example to show what you'd get for your money:
£130 - CPU quad-core: Intel S775 / AMD AM2+
£25 - CPU cooler
£100 - Motherboard: with Crossfire / SLI
£35 - RAM 4Gb (2x2Gb) DDR2
£150 - Graphics card (x1): HD4890 / GTX275
£35 - DVD-RW drives (x2)
£110 - Case: high-end, gaming-grade
£85 - PSU 700-900W
£165 - Monitor 24" (1920x1080)
£85 - Keyboard + mouse: gaming-grade
£65 - 5.1 speaker set
£65 - XP Home OEM
£1050 - TOTAL | eBuyer order screenshot click here
Leaves £150 to add another HD4890 graphics card in the future if necessary.
The above is only an example, & can be tweaked to reduce the price by £100-200 without affecting overall performance by very much. G
Unfortunately I have no idea how to build a PC. Can anyone recommend a good site to get a machine built for me please? Thanks a lot.
Including operating system it comes in at under £1200. There are plenty of other deals around. Will post back more later.
Really the point of this post is to say that for your budget you really want to look at a Core i7, triple channel DDR3 based PC.
Also, if you are a gamer Vista really is the better option for you. Xp doesn't support DX10 so you'll never get best game play out of an XP based system. Vista 64 bit version would be far better still.
