go run type in msconfig and select what you dont want to start up

Also, you could set up a dedicated Games user account disable all programs using MSConfig allowing you to have a dedicated account for games enabling top performance.

You could try 'EndItAll.'

Search for it on Google.

enditall as above works ok but i dont think its free anymore.

using start/run type msconfig and disable any start up items apart from AV and firewall here.

disable or set to manual any uneeded services to save ram (i saved about 70mb doing this) click here safe listing should be fine for most users.

or set up a gaming profile with minimal services running and log on to that when just gaming click here

if you already have a fast cpu and graphics acrd then adding some more ram will give you the best results if you have less than 512mb.
