Happy New Year, hope someone can help with this as its driving me mad.
I'm trying to install a Genius Maxfire Digital Force G-09d controller under windows 98. Now the problem is it keeps saying that its not connected (under the game controllers section of control panel).
However when I install another game controller it works fine. I've updated the drivers for the joystick and the drivers for the sound card, which is on board by the way, and I'm totally bamboozled.
Tried the joystick on another computer and it was exactly the same, tried it on a third computer and it worked fine, the only difference I could see was that this computer had a seperate sound card rather than on board sound. I've come to the conclusion thats its something to do with the way the gameports are set up on onboard sound systems that stops it working. Anyone out there able to help before I take this beige box and throw it out the window.
