Is the g-force FX5200 graphics card any good? I'm thinking of buying one.

It's not cutting edge - what do you want to do with it, what's the rest of your system and how much do you want to spend?

I've got problems with my exsisting g-force4 card and cant be bothered trying to fix it any more.I want the card for games and im on a very tight budget.

It is rather slow. A Geforce 4 Ti 4200 will go faster.

Look at this click here A 128MB Sapphire Radeon 9600 DDR DVI TVout for £64.04 inc vat. Much better than an FX5200.

Can you still get them(Ti 4200)?

Looking in click here I can find only 1 still available online, but being a Gainward "Golden Sample" it is a bit pricey for an old card click here

New games like Far Cry are more demanding and need at least a fx5700, if you can not afford one it will be best to stick to older games that will run ok on a budget card.

They've adopted a reputation for having extremely bad performance, even compared to cards which where released a while before them - and especially to new cutting edge cards.

I personally wouldn't touch one, but that's just me and I've heard a lot of bad things about them.
All depends on what you need it for and what your budget is.

If you want to play the latest games then don't get one. I had the FX5200 in this pc when I bought it and it struggled with some of the games I wanted to play, ie Tomb Raider angel of darkness.

I've now got a FX5900 which handles anything I throw at it
