Fun with a Web Camera

Hi

My Brother's computer at Universty has a Web Camera and also is connected to broadband in his house.

Anyway living with three other peolpe they sometimes use the computer while he is at lectures which he hates, (understandable).

When confronting his house mates they deny it and delete the history so he is never quite sure whether they have used. I bought him the Web Cam (Labtec cheap one) so he can keep in touch with us though also he was wondering whether there is a software that takes a picture if the Screen shot it is taking suddenly changes (like some one sitting on a chair)

This would be great way to catch his house mates.

Any idea if this software exists and is for free?

Thanks for any help

Most Logitech cameras come with motion sensor and software which takes a video of anyone that comes within it's field of vision. Don't know about other makes.

Download Powertoys from Microsoft, there is one for taking pictures at random from a web cam.

they are free.

Wouldn't it be easier to make the machine accessible by password only?
