Not all motherboards are capable of being overclocked.

The motherboard will normally set the FSB and multiplier to the correct settings for the installed CPU.

I assume your CPU is a 333Mhz FSB model hence it is set at 166Mhz in the BIOS.

It would be 200Mhz if the CPU FSB was 400MHz.

Unfortunately what you have posted above does not include what the mobo is.It tells me it is based on the nForce chipset and has a Phoenix BIOS.

What mobo do you have and what processor do you have?

  leooleo 12:32 04 Sep 04

mobo? what's that...you mean motherboard?

if yes, it is:

XFX NF24-ALH Socket A
FSB 400 MHz
DDR DIMM
8X AGP

the processor is
AMD Athlon XP 2600+

(that's all I know about it...)

I built my PC myself, but I'm not an expert. Much of it was trial and error, so I might ignore what for you is common knowledge.

please help if u can...

regards

An Athlon 2600+ runs at either 133Mhz or 166Mhz depending on the model click here(1224)

Assuming yours is a 166Mhz model then all is fine.

Your motherboard (mobo) can take a 400Mhz (200MHz FSB in BIOS) processor such as the Athlon 3200+.

From what you have posted you do not appear to have any problem with your system -

Remove the space each side of the // and paste into your address bar.

Thanks bremmer,
it's thanks to people like you that I've learned the little that I know about computers...

As bremner has indicated the Athlon 2600 can either be 2083MHz when it will be 166MHz on the Mobo x 12.5 multiplier = 2075 near enough to 2083.
If you have the 2133MHz version then it will be 133MHz on the Mobo x 16 = 2128 near enough to 2133.
Sound like you've got the 2083 Barton core version
