I have just changed my PC case and PSU and the new case came with front usb ports. I need help with determining where the wires for these usb ports go.

There should be a pinout diagram for the USB headers on your motherboard in your motherboard manual. If you don't have a copy, you should be able to download a .pdf of it from the manufacturer's website.

On the Mobo will be the connections, you will need to consult the maual or post the details of the mobo here and someone will know.

how do I know the manufacturer. There's no obvious name on it?

Is there a model number on it anywhere? Post that here, it's likely to ring a bell with someone. It might also show the make and model in the BIOS.

Not much use without a model no. just the make there (MSI).. The mobo seems quite old, I'd be surprised if it had USB headers on it.

Do you have two USB ports in the back of your computer?

If so your board is probably the MSI 6151. From the manual this does not appear to have additional support for more USB.

Thanks Bremner, yes it has two rear usb ports. How about the layout for the power led and HDD led. I can't seem to get them to work!
