freezing mouse

i occasionally play backgammon on and on some of those occasions my mouse won't respond.i don't know why this happens. has anybody had same problem and can anyone suggest a cure please? thanks.

What kind of mouse is it that you are using? If wireless, are the batteries ok? If you're still using trackball, are the ball and wheels clean? What surface are you using?

Try this, Right click on Desktop\Properties\Settings\Advanced\Performance move the slider down a notch at a time then try comp.

You may need a new driver, a Later update

ArrGee, thanks for response. mouse is optical and wired. using mousemat.
woodchip, thankyou too. computer is about two months old. it works fine on every other program.
