most of the time when I put a disc in my DVD/rw drive or just the DVD drive above it any programs running on pc just freeze and stop responding I have to go into Ctrl-Alt-Del to close it and open the program again I have done a virus check with avg and online with trend and a trojan check also run adaware all negative there not much worth saving on pc and I have all CD`s for programs on pc would it be worth setting the pc back to factory setting or could it just be something simple

Maybe your PC is short of memory. Empty your temporary internet files and recycle bin. Then do a defrag. Also go to start-run and type msconfig in the box. Choose the startup tab and see if too much is being run at startup. Uncheck the boxes you don't need all the time. You could also take a look in OE and if the in and sent boxes have a lot in do a clear out as this has caused me similar trouble in the past.
