Freeserve does not load with Windows 2000

  BazC 22:51 28 Apr 03

I have upgraded to W2000 from W98. My broadband will not download the freeserve home page. I have followed the rules and reset the LAN settings to delete proxy on connections - but no joy.

Any suggestions?

Check security settings to see if anythings blocking Java, I set naviscope to block it and the freeserve home page vanished, block removed, Freeserve homepage reappears. It's still a load of cack so I'm not entirely sure why I did it, there are better home pages out there.

No - sorry tried that still no success.

Is it just the freeserve page or are you getting problems elsewhere.

It seems to be just the freeserve page nut it won't load on Netscape either. Thanks. It won't load even when I disable my Norton firewall.

Use search and look for a file called HOSTS (just HOSTS, no file extension, not HOSTS.SAM for example). If it exists have a look for an entry for FreeServe and delete it (or delete or rename the HOSTS file).

Thank but no joy. Hosts exists and LMHosts but neither contain "freeserve"
