Freecom network LAN & USB2 drive 500Gb

Just wondering, to save a lot of time backing up data over the network if I buy one of these - can I copy the data via USB2 to the drive & then connect it to the network.

Or do you have to decide if it's to be setup as a network drive or a USB, and can only use it connected the one way.

Ta, g-g

If it supports both ethernet and USB 2.0 connectivity, then it doesn't matter which method you use to connect it - the data that is written/read to and from the drive will be the same either way.

The 500Gb drive is installed & working.

Now have 100,000+ .jpg files to copy across totalling 275Gb using the USB connection

To copy that much over the network would have taken a long time, which is why the option of USB & LAN connections seemed so useful.
