A PC Advisor cover disk some months back included ABBEYY FineReader 5.0 - however there was a 34MB update for it which will pose no problem if you have broadband or know someone who will download it for you.

Scanners are usually supplied with OCR as part of the software package.

Assuming you have a scanner, are you sure you don't have an OCR package with it?

If you don't have a scanner, why do you want OCR?

Agree with €dstowe, if you already have a scanner you will probably find either Textbridge or Omnipage on the install disk.

If you don't have a scanner why do you want an OCR.
