I wish to free up some disc space

I run Windows 98 - where are these cookies stored?

Is it OK to delete/remove them?

Thank you for your help!

They're in C:\Windows\Cookies, Big Bear, you can delete them by going to, in IE, Tools > Internet Options > General tab and click the Delete Cookies button. It's okay to delete them, but some of the sites you usually visit will no longer recognise you because it's the cookie that tells them who you are. You will get another cookie from that site when you re-visit. Cookies aren't that large so you'll not free up a lot of space.

Easiest way, start, run and type cookies.... you can get rid of the lot if you wish. Remember though that some could contain passwords ie: the one to this site, so you would have to type it in again.

Internet options in control panel will give you a wider view, you can set the size of the folder by increasing or decreasing the amount of space you want.
