Free AVG

I am running the free AVG that comes on a number of free disks from PC Mag publishers. Problem is that it is set to run daily which for the first half hour after switching on slows the machine to a crawl. Do I really need it to do a daily scan? I can switch the daily scan of and perhaps set a reminder to manually run it weekly. Any suggestions?

Launch control center.Schedular.Scheduled tasks.Highlight test plan in basic mode.Edit schedule,And untick periodically start scheduled tasks.Ok

if you wish to do a scan of the boot section only at computer bootup , open the avg program/ test centre/scan selected areas/other settings/scan system area before the test starts; it is a quick nip through a specific section of the computer and is (or should be )brief
