A FORUM where nobody can post a response

Yes, same for me - it gets worse and worse.

  Matt Egan 12 Jul 12

Sorry about that. It should be fixed now.

As for things getting 'worse and worse', we have a growing database of 300,000 users, and 2 million regular visitors. Every now and then we have to upgrade our database, or you really would start to see problems (and our data security could come under threat.) So, unfortunately, we have weeks such as this one: deeply frustrating for everyone, with no discernible end product as far as the outside world is concerned. That, I'm afraid, is the price you and I pay for PC Advisor taking the care to do things properly.

Again, I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.

PC Advisor taking the care to do things properly.

Sorry Matt, but IMHO these 'things' have been going on for far too long, I don't consider that is 'taking the care'!!

Although I see that rdave13 has managed to mark his thread as Resolved I don't have any tick marks to the right of the postings to click

  Nontek 12 Jul 12

Sea Urchin - I have just marked mine as Resolved, in the normal way!

  Sea Urchin 12 Jul 12

On that last post I was immediately logged out - on logging in again the the ticks are now there!!!

How exciting - you never know what's going to happen next

Hi Nontek what I mean is that we could choose not to update our database. It affords us nothing but extra expense. But we endeavour to adopt best practices in our handling of YOUR data.

No-one is more embarrassed than I am by the way things have gone this week, and I am sincere in my apologies for the inconvenience caused to each and every one of you. The way this has played out has been unnacceptable. Unfortunately it is a difficult task, and not one we undertake regularly. We will get things right, and in the mean time I appreciate your patience.

I know you are doing your best, my comment was just out of frustration as I personally can not do anything about it - except Be Patient.

  Matt Egan 12 Jul 12

I hear you. To be honest, I'm in same boat. All I can do is keep stressing how important it is that this all gets solved, and buy doughnuts.

"I personally can not do anything about it - except Be Patient."

It's a killer when there's a frustration and you're powerless. Like Matt, I'm experiencing the same problem, and in truth I have nothing to offer but a request that you bear with us a bit longer. The site is working normally as I write apart from a login issue. No excuses - here's hoping for a better day tomorrow.

  TonyV 13 Jul 12

Is there also a problem with retaining the Login information as well? At the moment on an iMAC with Lion OSX10.7.4 and Safari 5.1.7, it steadfastly refuses to accept that I am logged in and I have to do it each time I visit. I normally never have to login unless I have done something silly like removing all cookies!!
