Formatting Hard Drive

Hi! I am green to computers, as such, could someone please let me know how to Format my HARD DRIVE,which I recently purchased second hand through Ebay. It is a 40 GB Drive

It depends on what you want to do with it...

If you want to format and install windows on it, then insert your Windows Installation disk and restart the system.... Boot from the disk and follow the on-screen instructions....

If you want to use it for "additional" space, then you can format it in Windows.... If you are using WinXP, then go to "Start->Control Pannel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management" and click onto "Disk Management" from the "tree diagram"....

You can now "partition" the drive, format the drive or delete partitions....
