Formatting Cells is a Word Table

This is no particular problem, I would have thought and indeed the formatting on screen is fine. The problem arises when I print on my Sumsung ML-1610 laser printer. The text in each cell is supposed to be horizontally and vertically centred but on the top tow rows of a five row table it is horizontally centred but the text is at the top of the cells.

I fnd this behaviour bizarre. Any ideas anyone?

does it show like this in print preview? If not you either have not set up the correct printer driver or the printer has a set point set wrongly.
