Hi folks, I am trying to formatt a group of cells in one block, A1-A3 across to G1-G3. I want the cell to go pink and bold when the number is 3 and below, any ideas because when I try, all the cells go pink, chhers.

Hi. Select A1:G3, on the Home tab click Conditional Formatting, click New Rule, click Use a formula and in the box enter

=A1<=3

then click the Format button, apply your format then click OK twice.

Almost there, I can get the numbers below 3 any colour I want but can't get the cell to change colour?

In the formatting dialog click on the Fill tab to apply a fill colour.

I'm so close I can smell it !!! When there is no number in the cell it is filled in (pink) and when I enter a number below 3 it remains pink (which is what I want) and when a number higher than 3 is entered there is no fill (which is also good), how do I make it no fill when there is no number in the cell ?

=AND(A1<>"",A1<=3)
