formating sata drive

im trying to set up a new pc with 1 sata hard drive,i cant get the bios to recognize it.
i have f/disked with win 98 floppy created partition and set active.
but xp will not load and drive is still not recognized.

idea's please.

well i found the answer press f6 while starting xp as if you want to load a raid setup,put the sata drivers on floppy in and press c.

that loads the sata drivers (not the raid setup)then xp starts up partition,then format bingo.
