formating hard drive from bios

Can anyone help please i'm having trouble installing XP i want to first of allformat my hard drive from bios i have booted from my XP cd but don't know where to go from there.I'm currently running win98 and am upgrading on that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When your system boots up, make sure that the bootable Windows XP CD is already in the drive. It will then ask you if you want to boot from CD, choose YES and then press the appropriate keys to perform SETUP.

If it setup doesn't load, you may need to go into BIOS and change the boot order to CD.
