format hard drive

hi all i have just took delivery of a computer which does not have a floppy drive , if the worst happened in the future and i had to re install windows, how do you format the hard drive if there is not a floppy for the boot disk any advice welcome

You boot it from the Windows CD ROM it gives the option to format.

If you've any concerns at all about this there are free programs available from the hard drive manufacturers which can do the same thing. Maxblast for Maxtor drives, Seatools for Seagate etc. I have both of them downloaded and burnt on to disk as I have both makes of drives, they are very useful if anything else goes wrong with the drive as well, finding and repairing faults etc.
