Fontreg.exe - Fatal error on boot up

I have just reinstalled Win98 SE onto a computer (the old one died spectacularly - even got smoke out the power supply!)

When I boot up into Windows I get an error message saying that Fontreg.exe has a fatal error and must be shut down. Clicking 'close' removes the message and Windows otherwise functions fine -the text on the desktop under icons just looks slightly strange. Anyone any ideas how to rectify this annoying mesage?

Regards,

Paul

What happens if you restart "Fontreg.exe"?

Go to "Start > Run" type Fontreg.exe and click OK.

If there is still a problem, try running the System File Checker.

Go to "Start > Run" type SFC and click OK - you may need the Win 98 CD.
