Font colour in word keeps disabling!

This is driving me nuts.

In Word 2000, the font colour button keeps disabling itself, so that I have to remove it from the toolbar then replace it. This works for a while then I have to do it all over again.

Has anyone else come across this - more importantly, has anyone got a solution?

When I say disable - what I mean is it doesn't bring in the palette - it will only use the last diplayed colour.

Are you using Format, Font, or the A in the taskbar?

'A'in taskbar

Try Detect and Repair on the Help menu.

Tried that VoG. No change.

What happens if you select some text,

go to 'Format'
and then select 'Font'
and then open 'font colour' ?

does the colour palette appear then?

Yes it appears. Then the toolbar button works - for a while - then ceases to function again. It's more of an annoyance than anything else.
