Folder icon to stay customized

  jacksony 12:03 28 Mar 04

Windows XP Home

My documents folder>My music folder>10 Folders

In ‘My music’ folder the ‘list’ view is selected.

When I select one of the 10 Folders, then right-click and:

properties>customize>change icon

I can choose another icon to be used for that folder, instead of the standard beige one.

Click OK, apply and it works fine.

Then, at an apparently random time, it changes back to the beige icon again. How can I get it to stay customized?

You could try setting them to thumbnail view see if that helps.

No, that then displays little pictures of whats inside the folders, as their icon. Thanks anyway.

I will try and download a shareware utility:

and see if that does the trick.

You can set them to thumbnail and still set your own pic on the front.

I really wanted to keep the folder as "list" view, you see.

The shareware I mentioned above works well, but it cost $19.

Now I'm trying out this one:

which is free, and seems to work ok with XP.
