No, not that type of floppy problem.............

Have just built a new PC and have problem with floppy drive - drive light seems to be on all the time, and when I put a disk in, window appears saying 'Please insert floppy into drive A:' - so disk obviously not detected.

All cables etc seem to be plugged in OK, and BIOS and windows detect drive and say all is working OK.

Any ideas?

Cable is the wrong way round. Unplug it from the drive, rotate it through 180 degrees and reconnect.
