The motherboard [MSI X58 Platnium] has no floppy socket, it there an adapter on the market to plug it into a SATA socket?

Why do you need a floppy drive?

Once you have a flash drive you do not need a floppy

I remove the floppy drive on my computer about 3 years ago and install a

Internal USB 2.0 4-Port Hub

Most computers now come without a floppy drive installed

one of the reasons family like "best off microsoft entertainment" on a pre recorded floppy which failed various methods load after being copied to cd.

I've had a good look but the nearest I could get was a Forum where a guy reckoned he had a floppy on a sata.

Aha! thought I.

Unfortunately somebody else posted that he serioiusly doubted it was as described.

Have you tried putting it onto other media than CD?

“Which failed various methods load after being copied to cd”

Try copying to a flash drive and see if that will work

Because it's still one of the easiest ways to transfer or store small files, including those necessary to boot a computer whilst by-passing the usual start-up files. I would never have a PC without one.

sunnystaines, try the YD-8V08. It's a combined 3.5 inch drive and card reader which works from an on-board sata header

The item I referred to connects directly to a SATA header on the motherboard

HondaMan

“The motherboard has no floppy socket” so he cannot install a internal floppy drive unless he can find a SATA to Floppy Adapter

The MoBo in question appears to have 6 SATA ports, so he should have no problem in finding a spare one or, failing that to a spare internal USB header
