floppy drive lost.... win xp

just gone to put some files on the floppy drive, and it is not there, have looked in control panel, no luck....the only drives showing in "my-computer" are "c" and "the cd drive" how can i get it back, it was there because i have used it in the past.

check your ide cable and power connections,and also make sure its configured in the bios.
if that fails it may be broken

hi all, it is a dell inspiron 8200, i just tried pressing F2 and i go a message about a modular bay was not in right, what ever that might be..

thank you all for the help, it is sorted, i noticed the drive was a bit loose, so in desperation, i gave it a shove it went in about a 1/16 of an inch, and the A drive all lit up..

another worry over, is it worth it ...
