Floppy disc protection

I need to load drivers to motherboard following C drive format which wiped out some of drivers. Using floppy disc supplied with board the following message appears 'write protect error writing drive A'. At this point nothing more happens and I am unable to install the 2 drivers contained on the floppy. The readme file instructs to use setup.exe but using this or typing the drive name.exe has no effect. How do I load the drives on the floppy

Unless I've missed something here, all you need to do is move the little plastic switch in the bottom right of the disk, so that the whole is covered.

Switch is on the back.
