A flood of Pop-Ups

A friend phoned me an said he had been driven to despair with pop-ups all over the place

Should he try Stop Zilla - he asked?

I am going to recommend him to try Malwarebytes, Spybot-SD, and Ad-Aware in that order.

Have not had time to research suitable software, I hope someone knows the best.

Gave up on spybot and adaware a few years ago

Spywareblaster as a blocker

Malwarebytes and SAS are my choice of antimalware scanners.

however Avast also has built in anti malware and stops almost everything as my weekly scans with MAlwarebytes and SAS find nothing.

Thanks, though meanwhile I discovered this - enter link description here

1]: [click here this is just a matter of toggling the right switch to allow/block popups then the rest should be easy

MSE is the worse of the antivirus programs available

Microsoft have admitted it is basic compared with the rest.

For free A/V I would look at Avast, Avira or AVG; each has its merits. I agree with *Fruit Bat /\0/* on his choices of anti malware.
