I can watch a video in media player at its normal size but wen i start to increase the size, the video starts to flicker and the computer slows down. it used to work fine, but i dunno whats wrong with it. My refresh rate is set to 85hz and the resolution is at 1024 x 768. iv always had these settings. is it a codec problem?
P.s the problem is also with divx player. is my comp too slow now?

Without knowing all the specs, I would say that it is a question of your computer being a little on the slow side.

When you play a video in "Normal" size the amount of memory (Both PC memory and graphics card memory) is less. As you increase the size of the screen it requires more processing power and memory to fill the screen. This takes its toll on overall performance.

What Graphics card, CPU and memory do you have int he machine at the moment?
