Flat Panel Monitors

I need some advice on some of the technical details of flat panel monitors.
I am aiming at the mid price range of £250 to £350. 19in to 22in.
I am thinking about a Viewsonic VX2245WM 22in mainly because it has an integral card reader and it gets good reports but I am not sure if the technical details are up to scratch.
What are the most important technical details I need to look for when purchasing a monitor that will be used for general computer work, photo editing and game play? And would you recommend the Viewsonic VX2245WM ? Thanks for your advice.

the last thing I would be looking at is because it has an integral card reader!
Game play requires a very fast response time, very different to general computer work.
Read the reviews, go look at one if you can & then decide.

yep the viewsonic VX2245WM is ok, but remember it has built in speakers, which are probably going to be useless. Look for lower than 8ms around the 3-5ms mark, ebuyer & lowestontheweb (takes a while for this page to load)

Microdirect.co.uk £352.25

Samsung SyncMaster 205BW 20" £217.37 Ebuyer
Xerox XM3-22WB 22" £223.24 Ebuyer
Samsung SyncMaster SM225BW 22" Ebuyer £276.12

Why go over £280 you pay for the brand, if buying from Ebuyer, opt for 5 Day Saver delivery if you want to save another £4.99 del cost.

I have a Medion 19" it is a 4ms monitor and only cost £121.00 from Aldi. Don't know if they still have them, but you could always contact Medion to see who they recomend will be stocking them. I find it good for all sorts of things including photography and I use a Fuji Finepix 9500 set at Maximum Res, fantastic views.
