Flashplayer problem

A friend of mine is trying to setup a wireless network but the Belkin USB Wireless adaptor says it won't install as it needs Shockwave 8.5.
The problem is this PC has never been on the internet and he cannot connect it to the internet until he gets the wireless adaptor installed.
So its kind od a catch 22 situation, he can't install it without shockwave but he can't get shockwave until its installed.
Haven't seen it myself but this is what he says, anyone seen this before and have a workaround?

Away to have a look at it and will check back.

Got it installed, it appears the CDROM was faulty as I downloaded the driver from the manufacturer, in this case Belkin and it installed perfectly.
