Flashing Monitor at startup

I have a Vision Master Pro452, five and a half years old, averaging about two hours a day switched on.

Over the last week or so I have noticed that when I switch my PC on, the Monitor crackles for a few moments, settles down and is then excellent.

This morning very early and in the dark (to avoid awakening my wife), I switched on my PC and when it started crackling I saw about a dozen very fast flashes, over the screen, I would not have seen them in normal light.

As I have said, by the time I get into Windows the screen seems very stable.

Any ideas please?

The high voltage module to the CRT tube is leaking and in time the monitor will fail

Repairing a tube type monitor is not worth the cost as you can get a 19” LCD for around

£100

Thank you both, I thought the writing might be on the wall, but as Ditch999suggests I'll use it til it stops, and I have another monitor to carry on til I renew.
