If you have Windows NT / 2000 / XP, you can boot from startup floppy disks or CD-ROM, choose repair option during setup, and run Recovery Console. When you are logged on, you can run FIXMBR command to fix MBR.

now i have to go and see where to get a boot floppy any one else know

hi thanks for the response but i have no floppy drive on my laptop, and my win xp disc is not the full version of windows, but merely a recovery disk that restores factory settings. i dont want to do this as i dont want to loose all my data.

i hope you can help me
