Fitting a new CD/DVD drive in Dell Vostro 430

My CD/DVD drive in my Vostro seems to have difficulty ripping certain CDs - a problem I don't have on other computers. I therefore have 2 questions.

1) Is there any physical constraint on the type of drive that can be fitted. The Vostro has a plastic flap over the front of the drive which is opened by pressing a button. Is this designed to work only with Dell supplied drives, does it work with any, or do I have to remove the flap to install a drive from a third party.

2) Does anyone know of a specific drives that are particularly recommended for CD ripping, from which I will be creating flac files?

Basically it a rectangular metal box with plastic cover clipped to front.

Remove side panel an very carefully use a flat blade to unclip front panel.

Drive may be secured by clips or screw - uncople cables and drive will slide out front.

Any drive should do what you want a new DVD RW drive is less than £20
