Please can anyone advise on the following. I have bought a Caddy/Enclosure to fit an old laptop HDD into, when I fit the HDD onto the caddy circuit board (which I think is the correct way) there are 4 Pins on the R/H side showing (please see pictures below). Is this correct ?

Has it been formatted?

did you set an HDD password when it was in the laptop?

I was hoping to format when connected to the laptop.
Don't think it would have had a password.

How have you set the Jumpers at the rear of the hard drive?

This is what I get when I Right click My Computer then
"Manage"-"Disc Management"

Could the External HDD be Disc 1?
When I right click on Disc 1 I get "Initialize Disc" then "The device is not Ready.

Dohhhh - just read the question again - no jumpers pins on a 2.5" drive!!
