Firewire on pc not working

I run Lacie harddrives ion a PC running Windows XP. The otherday I accidentally knocked the lead out. I didn't remove the hardware in the 'safely remove hardware'window as I normally do.

NOw the firewire port on my card does not mount the drive. It powers it, but will not mount it or recognise it is even there. I've obviously done something but have no idea what. Does anyone know how I can fix it?

I believe he is refering to a system restore, to a date before your mishap.
