this may sound like a silly question, but my new computer has 2x1394 firewire connections, is it okay to leave the cable plugged in (connection in rear only) so i can connect to my digicam?
help appreciated.

I leave USB and firewire cables plugged in to save the trouble of going round the back whenever I want to plug something in. Obviously you have to be caeful where the free ends are dangling e.g. not in your coffee but, I've never had any problems over a number of years.

Yes, no problem in leaving them plugged in.
