Just changed over to XP. Is the XP firewall adequate for protection when connected to broadband or do I need to use something else such as zone alarm which I used with '98.

Whichever firewall you get, because the XP one is next to useless, you MUST disable the XP one first. Otherwise conflicts may occur.

I personally think that Norton Personal Firewall 2003 is well worth paying for as against using freebies. The cost over each year is minimal.

I prefer Kerio2, largely because the free version isn't cut down in any way, it has all the functionality of the commercial one, plus it gets as good reviews as anything else, free or otherwise. click here
