Firewall settings

Is there a list of legitimate programs that should be allowed network access through a firewall. I Normally say NO and then if something dosn't work I'll allow it. I'm thinking of things like 'NDIS User mode I/O' and 'Generic Host process for Win32 services'If there is no list can anyone suggest a possible list of 'safe' programs.

I block all those 'NDIS User mode I/O' and 'Generic Host process for Win32 services' things and suffer no effect.

As for a safe list or danger list you'll have to decide on your own. Some viruses and troajns use random names so you can't list them and there are 1000's of filenames to list...

Judge each one carefully.
