firewall problem

how can I remove windows firewall

When i go to control panel
and click windows firewall
i get the message

due to an unidentified problem windows is unable to show firewall settings?
Need to get rid of it

Any suggestions?

Rather than remove it, why not try a system file scan. Start / Run / Type sfc /scannow and hit OK. You will probably need your XP disc.

Start, Run, type in


and click OK. Scroll down to Security Center and double click it. Click the Stop button and change the Startup type to Disabled.
