Hi,

Router has died so I'm temporarily using 1 computer on my network as internet host.

I want to protect the network by ticking DONT ALLOW EXCEPTIONS within windows firewall but this prevents my client computers from accessing the internet........When I untick the exceptions box then the client computers connect to the internet no problem. How do I configure the firewall to allow all my network to access the internet through exceptions?

Thanks anyone

use zone alarm firewall

It still takes a bit of configuring, but do as howard60 says and use ZoneAlarm - I've been using it on my host PC for 3 years now - I never did get round to buying a router!

If you can get the Pro version, that is more suited to using on a gateway PC, but the free version will be fine.
